Starting as a small store in 1963, Plus Point has evolved into a thriving shopping hub, reflecting the dedication of three generations committed to meeting the needs of their customers
Plus Point, which started in 1963 with 300 square feet, has grown to 1,700 square feet by 2024, serving customers continuously. For 61 years, three generations—Popatlal Satra, Ramesh Satra, and Atul Satra—have fulfilled the clothing needs of Plus Point’s patrons.
THERE’S SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
Plus Point serves customers from all generations from Ghodbunder Road, Thane City, Kalwa, Kharegaon, Vitawa, Dombivli, Kalyan, Badlapur, Bhiwandi, and the Vashi region. To cater to the needs of all types of customers, Plus Point maintains a diverse stock. The store attracts everyone, from college students to senior citizens.
In 1963, the founder Popatlal Satra and another person worked at Plus Point. Today, in 2024, Atul Bhai Satra leads a team of 16 dedicated employees. Atul Bhai emphasises that the greatest reward is seeing the happiness on customers’ faces after a purchase.
A SALE TO REMEMBER
This year, as Plus Point marks its 61st anniversary, it launched a celebration sale to express gratitude to its loyal customers. This is the store’s second sale. A significant discount is being offered for the occasion. The sale began on 25th July and will continue till stock lasts. The showroom is receiving a resounding response from its patrons.

THE PLUS POINT PHENOMENON
It was Popatlal Satra who came to Mumbai from Kutch in the 1960s, initially working for others before settling down in Thane. On August 15, 1963, he opened Plus Point, a ready-made clothing store on Station Road (Netaji Subhash Road) in Thane, across Kopineshwar Temple. Plus Point was the first showroom to offer ladies, gents, and kids apparel. In 1975, Ramesh Satra started working in the shop. Between 1963 and 1980, Plus Point grew significantly, establishing a strong relationship with its customers. The brand developed a reputation for affordable pricing, durable materials, and clothing that caters to everyone’s preferences. The shop was renovated in 1994 and a grand showroom called Ground Plus Two was created. At that time, Thane was also changing. Plus Point made the shop attractive keeping in mind the needs of its customers. Atul Satra took over in 1997, infusing the business with the energy of a new generation. He transformed Plus Point into a premier destination for menswear, offering a wide range of innerwear, including formal, casual, party, and wedding attire.
